Cost cards

Make the whole
bill visible.

You want a total before you commit. A program fee alone leaves more to ask.

No approved MOTS-c product had a maker’s published price or government price as of September 30, 2026. U.S. product review

Start with an itemised quote: a written list of each charge. Leave a space for any cost the quote does not explain.

Clinician means the health professional who assesses your concern.

Outlined sheets separated into layers, with a connecting line leading to a total.
A total begins with separate parts.

What the quote needs to say

Ask for each part of the cost.

Keep the same list beside every quote. Ask for a blank to be filled in rather than guessing what is included.

The first visit
Does this fee cover one visit, or does it pay for membership? What happens to that fee if the clinician advises a different path?
Lab tests
These are checks on a sample, such as blood. Which tests are being proposed, why are they needed, and who charges for the order and the results review?
Follow-up care
Are return visits and messages included? Who reviews progress, and when would a new charge start?
The exact treatment
Is there a separate bill? Ask for the full product name and who makes it before discussing the price.
The end of the plan
When does billing stop? Ask about renewals, refunds, delivery costs and how long you would have to keep paying.

A test is part of care

Ask why a test belongs in the plan.

You are offered a lab bundle. Ask what question each test is meant to answer.

A prescription is a clinician’s written order for medicine.

General U.S. federal rules did not require a blood test before every prescription as of September 26, 2026.

Tests may still be needed because of state rules, your medical needs or requirements for the medicine involved.

If understanding your health problem requires an exam in person or tests, a doctor must arrange them, says the Federation of State Medical Boards. The boards’ guidance on testing

Some adverts for lab tests paid without insurance listed an extra fee for the doctor ordering them, when checked on September 26, 2026. Which adverts were checked

Ask why you need each test and whether the quote includes the fee for ordering it. Ask who reads the result, whether more tests are planned later, and how each step is billed.

Insurance and payment accounts

Get an answer for each item.

You want to know whether an insurance plan changes the bill. Ask about the visit, tests and treatment separately.

Ask your insurer

Give the insurer the exact service and treatment names. Ask if it needs approval before care starts, what you would pay, and what happens if it refuses a claim.

For MOTS-c itself, ask your insurer to put its payment decision in writing. Keep it with the quote.

Ask the account manager

A health savings account (HSA) holds money for medical costs that qualify under tax rules. So does a flexible spending account (FSA).

Ask the person who runs your account what documents it needs.

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is the federal tax agency.

Care for a disease a doctor has identified can meet IRS tax rules checked on September 26, 2026. Spending just to stay generally healthy cannot. IRS rules for medical expenses

This general tax rule does not tell you whether your account can pay for a particular MOTS-c expense. Before you pay that MOTS-c expense, check with your account’s manager whether the account can cover it.
